Dissertation note: Thesis (Ph.D.) - Cairo University - Faculty of Medicine - Department of Anaesthesia Summary: The present study was carried to investigate the behavior of xPCO2 and its relationship to blood lactate concentration during resuscitation in the very early stages of hypovolemic shock in patients with major trauma and to assess the correlation between changes of xPCO2, with PPV and with ScvO2 during resuscitation. Regarding age range distribution, results showed that highest percentage of study cases were aged between 45-54 years and were male. Regarding the infection sources, the present study showed that (55%) of cases had pneumonia
