Dissertation note: Thesis (M.Sc.) - Cairo University - Faculty of Engineering - Department of Electrical Power and Machines Summary: The main concern of this thesis is to investigate the effects of adding DG units to an existing network when adding single centralized DG compared to several smaller distributed DGs having the same total capacity. Three approaches are used; Minimum voltage tracking, internal busbars and Combined techniques to solve this problem and to set the limits of each technique. The study takes into consideration the effect of DG on voltage profile and short circuit currents. The system (model) studied in this thesis is the IEEE 37 bus test system and it is simulated using power factory software
