Dissertation note: Thesis (M.Sc.) - Cairo University - Faculty of Science - Department of Physics Summary: A completely new lithium-diphenyl carbazide complex (LiDPC) samples are prepared and studied here over a temperature range extended between room temperature and its melting point ~120{u00BA} C. A set of the different techniques are successfully used in this investigation. These include electrical measurements (d.c resistance, dielectric constant and pyroelectric current), differential thermal analysis (DSC, DTA, TGA, and TMA), IR spectroscopy and X-ray diffraction analysis. Some important electrical parameters are measured for a set of LiDPC samples. Theses parameters include d.c resistance, dielectric constant, and pyroelectric current. The variations of these parameters with temperature are studied explicitly during a set of heating and cooling runs starting from roomtemperature up to the melting point (~ 120{u00BA} C). The results obtained showed that there are two different states of different electric conductance. It was found that, very fast transformation takes place from one state to the other. In the first state, the sample possesses high resistance quickly reduced (during the elevation of temperature) due to the polarizability anomalies. Also, the pyroelectric current measurements showed that LiDPC samples are more pyroelectric than pure DPC samples
