Dissertation note: Thesis (M.Sc.) - Cairo University - Faculty of Nursing - Department of Community Health Nursing Summary: Background: When nursing students have knowledge regarding autism, they will be able to refer children at risk for diagnostic evaluation and intervention at the earliest possible opportunity also it will enhance their attitude toward autistic children. Aim of the study to assess relation between knowledge and attitude of technical nursing school students regarding autistic children. Materials and methods: Design: A descriptive correlation research design. Setting: the technical nursing school of at Kaser Al Aini The study sample: All students who finish the five years of technical nursing school were included in this study; 110 students (according to the list from the technical nursing school at academic year 2018-2019). Tools for data collection: The first tool is student's knowledge questionnaire, this tool included:- a) Demographic characteristics of the technical nursing school students b) Cognitive questionnaire: it included questions to assess the technical nursing school students' knowledge toward autistic children, Second tool is attitude of technical nursing school students toward autistic children scale. The total knowledge and attitude scores for questionnaire are 100%. Results: The mean age of the studied technical nursing students was 21.00. Ninety point nine percentage of them were single. There was statistical significant relations between their total level of knowledge and their level of attitude (P>0.001). There was significant positive correlation between the technical nursing school students' total score of knowledge and their total score of attitude regarding to autistic children (P>0.01). Conclusion: the study concluded that, 45.5% of the technical nursing school students' had satisfactory knowledge regarding autistic children.Seventy six point four percentage of them had positive attitude regarding autistic children. Recommendations: The study recommended that including the curriculum regarding autistic children from the first year not in fifth year will enhance the technical nursing school students' knowledge autistic children
