In our study (180 cases of prof. A. Zohdi series and archives), multiple anatomical variations of liliequist's membrane were detected and classified into seven groups (with different subtypes in some of these groups): tough (11.7%), ill-defined (17.2%), unilayer (23.3%), double layer (45.6%), multiple transverse layers (11.1%), third vertical (2.8%) and diencephalic-mesencephalic membrane 12.2%
