Background: Psoriasis is a common inflammatory skin disease characterized by abnormal keratinocyte proliferation and differentiation, CUB-domain-containing protein (CDCP1) is a cell-surface integral glycoprotein that may play a role in cellular anchoring versus migration or proliferation. Objectives: To assess the presence and distribution of CDCP1 in psoriasis vulgaris in order to investigate their possible role in the pathogenesis of psoriasis. Material and Methods: Thirty 30 paraffin blocks of patients with psoriasis collected from the archives of the dermatology department Faculty of medicine, Cairo University the diagnosis was based on clinical examination, histological examination using H&E stain. 10 paraffin blocks of normal skin collected from surgical specimens taken as a control group. Histopathological grading was performed and check list with a numerical value was assigned to each microscopic criterion for all cases. Immunohistochemical staining was performed to detect CDCP1 expression and distribution in both cases and control groups. Results: There was a highly significant difference between cases and control group regarding to immunostaining of CDCP1. There was a highly significant positive correlation between the used histological grading score and immunohistochemical staining of both CDCP1. There was positive correlation between the duration of disease and the immunohistochemical staining of CDCP1
