Dissertation note: Thesis (M.Sc.) - Cairo University - Faculty of Science - Department of Physics Summary: In this work hexaferrite MFe₁₂O₁₉ as (M = Ba and Sr) particles were synthesized by citrate precursor technique and perovskite (BiFeO₃) by flash autocompation method. multiferroic nano-composites were prepared according to [(1-X) MFe₁₂O₁₉ + X BiFeO₃; M =Ba & Sr, X = 0.3, 0.4, 0.5 and 0.6] XRD measurements confirm the formation of single phase hexagonal structure without detectable impurities as compared and indexed with ICDD card no. 43-0002, 79-1412 and 86-1518 for BaFe12O19, SrFe₁₂O₁₉ and BiFeO₃. The lattice constants (a and c) and cell volume (V) was calculated from the XRD data. From FTIR spectroscopy, the spectra showed the formation of the corresponding M{u2013}O stretching bands in ferrites. The EDX patterns of pure MFe12O19 (M =Ba and Sr) consists of M, Fe and O elements, the ratio of M, Fe and O in the barium ferrite obtained was determined to be 1:12:19
