Dissertation note: Thesis (M.Sc.) - Cairo University - Faculty of Science - Department of Organic Chemistry Summary: This work has been carried out to investigate the utility of pyridine-2,6-bis-(2-cyano-N-phenyl-3-oxopropanethioamide) for the synthesis of a variety of a series of new polysubstituted heterocyclic compounds such as thiophenes and 1,3,4-thiadiazoles attached to 2,6-position of pyridine ring. The newly synthesized compounds were evaluated for their in-vitro anticancer activity against human cancer cell lines
