Dissertation note: Thesis (Ph.D.) - Cairo University - Faculty of Medicine - Department of Gynecology and Obstetrics Summary: We conclude from this that there are significant differences in the doppler indices at different sites over the artery. In general, the velocity of blood is faster near its origin while the resistance increases near the kidneya. The pulsatility index is least to show changes at different sites and, thus, is the recommended index to take into consideration while evaluating the fetal renal blood flow
