Dissertation note: Thesis (M.Sc.) - Cairo University - National Cancer Institute - Department of Oncology (Surgical) Summary: Patients study and methods : -This is a retrospective cohort study involving patients with a diagnosis of muscle invasive transitional cell carcinoma of the urinary bladder who were treated at the National Cancer Institute of Egypt (NCI- E) over a two-year period; between January, 2017 and December, 2018.There were a total of 235 cases of muscle invasive bladder TCC retrieved from the medical records during the specified period.Eligibility criteria included: Adults >=18 , both genders, definite pathological diagnosis of transitional cell carcinoma of the urinary bladder by the whole bladder specimen after radical surgery, all patients had received neoadjuvant chemotherapy and all patients who underwent radical cystectomy .Exclusion criteria included: Cases with documented clinical diagnosis of metastatic TCC to other organs , cases who didn{u2019}t undergo radical cystectomy or cases that were not subjected to neoadjuvant chemotherapy.Results :-This is a retrospective study included 72 patients, with diagnosis of transitional cell carcinoma of urinary bladder and received neo-adjuvant chemotherapy followed by radical cystectomy at National Cancer Institute , Cairo university.Their mean age was 59.2 years ±9 , median: 60.5 years (range: 34 - 87), with male predominance (86.1%) and Male: Female 6.2:1 The majority (62.5%) were resident in uban areas in Egypt.Smoking history was depicted in (70.8 %) of patients
