The effects of ivermectin and chlorpyrifos insecticides on fetuses and newborns till weaning age were studied in rate . Results of acute toxicity study revealed that ivermectin is safer than chlorpyrifos . Both ivermectin and chlorpyrifos insecticides caused fetotoxic and teratogenic effects in rats when given to pregnant rats during the period of organogenesis
