Purpose: to evaluate efficacy of aerobic training on maximal oxygen consumption in post mastectomy patients. Methods of evaluation: Measurement of the maximal oxygen consumption (VO2 peak). Forty post mastectomy patients who received chemotherapy, their ages ranging from 45 to 55 years were selected from the National Cancer Institute; Patients were randomly divided into 2 equal groups in number: Group (A) (Exercise therapy group): was composed of 20 patients who received the received chemotherapy plus the aerobic exercises and cycling (20 minutes session day after day for three successive months) in addition to the activities of daily living. Group (B): (Control group): This group was consisted of 20 patients who received chemotherapy in addition to the activities of daily living. Measurements were conducted before starting the treatment as a first record and at the end of the third month of treatment as a second (final) record. Results and Conclusion:- Results showed that application of the aerobic training in improving the maximal oxygen consumption in post mastectomy patients receiving chemotherapy had a valuable effects. The results of this study supports the expectation that the aerobic training in improving the maximal oxygen consumption in post mastectomy patients receiving chemotherapy was effective in improving the maximal oxygen consumption as manifested by the highly increases of the maximal oxygen consumption (VO2 peak). Key words (Aerobic training, Post mastectomy patients, Chemotherapy and Maximal oxygen consumption)
