A bio - guided phytochemical investigation of A. scholaris ( L ) R. Br. ( F. Apocynaceae ) growing in Egypt was carried out to evaluate the effects of ethanolic and aqueous extracts of the leaves and flowers of Alstonia scholaris for their effects on blood glucose and glutathione levels in alloxan - induced diabetic rats, in addition to their hepatoprotective activity against CC1₄- induced hepatotoxicity in rats
