Dissertation note: Thesis (Ph.D.) - Cairo University - Faculty of Medicine - Department of Ophthalmology Summary: There is limited epidemiological evidence on the occurrence of CSCR in different populations. A population-based study in Minnesota reported an overall incidence of 5.8 cases of CSCR per 100 000 people with an approximately six-fold male preponderance (9.9 in 100,000for males, 1.7 in 100,000for females). The condition mostly affects patients between 39 and 51 years old but can occur later in life especially in women. The chronic form of the disease also seems more common in later life.10
