Dementia is a syndrome of global cognitive decline which intervenes with social and occupational functioning. It is common in the elderly and constitutes one of the largest burdens for individuals and society. The most common types of dementia are Alzheimer{u2018}s disease (AD), caused by neurodegeneration and vascular dementia, caused by cerebrovascular disease. Although the primary cause of AD remains unclear, A{uF062} and tau protein aggregation, reduced acetylcholine (Ach) as well as glutamate excitotoxicity may be considered principal pathogenic factors. Many studies have speculated that free radicals produced during oxidative stress and/or inflammatory processes are also involved in progression of AD
