Dissertation note: Thesis (M.Sc.) - Cairo University - Faculty of Engineering - Department of Mechanical Design and Production Summary: In this thesis, the centrifugal casting process is modeled using finite element software (procast, version 2008), the residual stresses are estimated and compared with the experimental measurements. The experimental residual stress measurements were done using the hole drill method. Microstructure and hardness of the cast are also analyzed. The effect of pouring time, shake out time, mold preheat temperature, cooling media and mold rotational speed were studied
