Thesis (M.Sc.) - Cairo University - Faculty of Pharmacy - Department of Pharmaceutical Chemistry
This thesis is concerned with the development of simple and accurate methods for the determination of some analgesics and anti-inflammatory drugs. RP-HPLC method was developed using spectrophotometric detector for the determination of diclofenac potassium and ibuprofen in dosage form, monitoring the effect of irradiation on the selected pharmaceutical preparations. Spectrophotometric methods; chemometric techniques; PCR and PLS were developed for the simultaneous determination of a quinary mixture of aspirin, caffeine, paracetamol, salicylic acid and para-aminophenol, a quaternary mixture of aspirin, caffeine, orphenadrine citrate and salicylic acid, a ternary mixture of dantrolene sodium, paracetamol and para-aminophenol and a binary mixture of ciclesonide and its degradation product. Also a first derivative and a first derivative ratio method were developed and validated for the determination of dantrolene sodium and paracetamol in drug substance, in laboratory prepared mixtures and in dosage form applying the standard addition technique. The proposed methods were validated and statistically compared with reference methods where no significant difference was found
