The strut - and - tie method provides better understanding of the behavior of structural concrete under different conditions of loading . Strut - and - tie model is a method of design for reinforced and prestressed concrete that reduces complex states of stress within a structure to a collection of simple stress paths . Structure members are divided to B - regions where Bernoulli equation for linear strain is applicable and D - region which stand for discontinuity regions
