Dissertation note: Thesis (M.Sc.) - Cairo University - Faculty of Nursing - Department of Nursing Services Administration Summary: Background: Nurse Interns are exposed to occupational health hazards through their internship year. Assessing nurse interns' awareness about nursing occupational health hazards is essential in order to prevent their exposure to biological, chemical, physical, and ergonomic hazards. Aim: The study aimed at assessing the nurse interns{u2019} awareness towards the nursing occupational health hazards in their clinical practice in the different settings at Cairo University hospitals. Design: Descriptive design was used in this study. Sample: A convenient sample of nurse interns who enrolled in clinical internship year (2012-2013). The number of the sample was (100). Setting: The study was conducted in Faculty of Nursing and Cairo University Hospitals.Tool: A developed questionnaire was utilized to collect the data pertaining occupational health hazards awareness. Results: the results of the current study revealed that awareness about possible biological nursing occupational health hazards had the highest mean score, while physical nursing occupational health hazards had the least one.The mean score of nurse interns' awareness of self-protection was higher (23.38 ± 5.374) than their mean score of general awareness about nursing occupational health hazards (15.86 ± 5.140)
