This study also focuses on the role of the microbes in the precipitation of these microbially-mediated ironstone deposits. Comprehensive mineralogical and geochemical analyses were carried out to differentiate between the marine and subaerial iron ore types

The present study deals with the sedimentology, mineralogy and geochemistry of the Lutetian ironstones of the northeastern part of the Bahariya Depression, Western Desert, Egypt.
