Chronic urticaria is the prescence of urticria for at least 6 weeks. It can be divided into autoimmune chronic urticaria (45%) and idiopathic chronic urticaria (55%). About 30%-50% of patients with chronic idiopathic urticaria have circulating histamine releasing autoantibodies. ASST is an in vivo test which assesses autoreacticity.
