Nigella sativa seeds have been used in Egyptian traditional medicine for treatment of various diseases . Thymoquinone (TQ) is the major active principle of N. sativa seeds and constitutes about 30% of its volatile oil . Many of the pharmacodynamic effects reported for N. sativa are due to TQ . The present study aims to investigate the anti - inflammatory and analgesic activities of TQ
