Thesis (Ph.D.) - Cairo University - Faculty of Oral and Dental Medicine - Department of Periodontology
This study was conducted on twenty patients were included in the study, their ages ranged between 32 and 61 years (mean age was 46 years). They were selected from the Outpatient Clinic of Oral Medicine, Diagnosis and Periodontology department, faculty of oral and dental medicine, Cairo University. All patients had one or more missing teeth in the maxillary posterior region. All the selected subjects had at least 5 mm residual bone height (RBH) measured from the crest of the alveolar ridge to the maxillary sinus floor , ridge width of at least 6 mm as measured with the bone caliper and mesiodistal gap of at least 8 mm. All patients included in this study were systemically healthy and free from any local or systemic condition that might contraindicate sinus lifting or implant therapy, regardless of their age and sex. The patients were subjected to a comparative clinical study between Porous Titanium Granules graft material used in maxillary sinus augmentation mediated by Osteotomes (Study group) against Internal sinus lifting without any graft material. The study was conducted using flapless technique in implant placement simultaneously with maxillary sinus augmentation. The patients were evaluated radiographically and clinically immediately postoperatively, after 6 months, after 9 months and after 12 months intervals. The results showed that there was no any significant difference , at the end of the study, between both the study and control groups
