Dissertation note: Thesis (M.Sc.) - Cairo University - National Cancer Institute - Department of Oncology (Surgical) Summary: Ovarian sex cord-stromal tumors are a heterogeneous group of benign or malignant tumors that develop from the cells surrounding the oocytes, including the cells that produce ovarian hormones (ie, the nongerm cell and nonepithelial components of the gonads) . Malignant ovarian sex cord-stromal tumors are rare, comprising only 1.2 percent of all primary ovarian cancers .In contrast to epithelial ovarian cancer, most patients with malignant sex cord-stromal tumors are diagnosed with early-stage disease, the tumors are generally considered to be low-grade malignancies. This study was a retrospective study that included 77 female patients with ovarian sex cord stromal tumors managed at NCI Cairo University during a period of 5 years (2008 till 2012). Including follow up and survival (disease free survival and overall survival) of this group of patients
