Dissertation note: Thesis (Ph.D.) - Cairo University - Faculty of Medicine - Department of Neurosurgery Summary: Failed back syndrome ( FBS ) refers to chronic back and / or leg pain that occur aflter back ( spinal ) surgery . About 30% of patients undergoing lumbosacral surgery "fail " . In this study we prospectivelyevaluated the clinical outcome of fifty six patients with FBS treated surgically in the Neurosurgical department of Cairo University between March 2009 and March 2010 to establish a proper algorithm for the surgical treatment of these cases
