Dissertation note: Thesis (M.Sc.) - Cairo University - Faculty of Oral and Dental Medicine - Department of Oral Biology Summary: This study investigated the effect of Nigella sativa (N. sativa) on age changes of parotid salivary gland structure and of the activity of the parenchymal tissue for secretion of insulin and glucagon like peptides. Forty five male albino rats were subdivided into three equal groups; young rats aged one year served as control second group sacrificed three months later to reach old age and third group was also sacrificed three months later but supplemented over this period with N. sativa in a daily dose of 300mg/200gm body weight
