The participants of the study consisted of 36 fourth year EFL students. Instruments used in this study were a personality trait questionnaire and an oral fluency test. The questionnaire assessed the role of communication strategies (CSs) use reported by the participants. The pre and post oral tests were used to measure the effectiveness of the strategy training on developing oral fluency measured by use of CS, rate of speech and amount of talk. Statistical analysis used t- Test for independent samples and wilcoxon signed Ranks test to verify the hypotheses of the study. Results indicated a positive effect of the strategy training on developing oral fluencyand proved significant differences between extraverts and introverts in using CSs, amount of talk and rate of speech. The study suggested more research for exploring the controversial relationships between oral fluency, strategy training and personality
