This study found that dexmedetomedine controlled the blood pressure and heart rate at lower levels compared to midazolam. By using BIS dexmedetomedine had more potent adjuvant anesthetic effect compared to midazolam, moreover dexmedetomedine had a shorter recovery times in comparison to midazolam Dexmedetomedine was found to a good alternative to other drugs used as premedicants to attenuate hemodynamic unstability, it can be safe in day case procedures as it allows good sedative effect and easy arousability with a short recovery times
