Dissertation note: Thesis (PH.D.) - Cairo University - Faculty Of Veterinary Medicine - Department Of Parasitology Summary: Out of 200 sheep of different breeds at Ameria farm , 3 of them (15) were found to harbour Coenurus cerebralis cysts in the brain while on examination of 265 sheep of different breed slaughtered at Cairo abattoir , it was found that Covis and Ctenuicollis were found a rate of 15 (566) and 45 (1698) respectivelyAlso , biological studies including experimental infection of dog and lambsOn serodiagnosis by ELISA , the sensitivity of Coenurus cerebralis , Cysticercus ovis and Cysticercus tenuicollis were 100 , 100respectively , but the specificity were 6666 , 5438 and 50 and 9777respectivelyBy Western blot , the specific epitope (s) for diagnosis of sheep coenurosis were 82601 , 42219 and 33685 KDaWhile the specific epitope used for diagnosis of sheep cysticercosis ovis was 26494 KDa as well as 74224 , 66725 , 55567 and 21224 KDa used for diagnosis of sheep cysticercosis tenuicollisIn experimentally infected sheep , the specific epitopes from Coenurus cerebralis antigen were 76906 , 42219 and 33685 KDa
