Dissertation note: Thesis (M.Sc.) - Cairo University - Faculty Of Medicine - Department Of Internal Medicine Summary: In conclusion , the results of the present study confirmed the pathophysiologic role of magnesium in hypertension evidenced by the diminished levels of magnesium in serum and erythrocytes of hypertensive patients It is recommended accordingly to consider magnesium supplementation as a potentially protective and therapeutic element in the treatment of essential hypertension
