The age-standardized rates are 74.1/100,000 (more developed), 31.3/100,000 (less developed), and 48.8/100,000 (Egypt). Despite being one of the cornerstones in the early detection, mammography is not without fallacies. Full 10-20% of breast cancers go undetected by mammography and this increases with the increase in breast density. The widely used manual ultrasound used as an adjunct to mammography in most cases remains operator-dependent and time consuming
