Dissertation note: Thesis (M.Sc.) - Cairo University - Faculty of Engineering - Department of Civil Engineering Summary: The aim of this study is to investigate the effect of the opening on the structural behavior of RC beam subjected to pure torsion. These parameters are: number of openings, spacing between stirrups, and height of beam. This was achieved using experimental investigation, in addition to analytical investigation by using ANSYS software. The two studies consider seven beams with constant width and length. The numerical models were compared with the results obtained from the experimental work. The results were found to be in a good agreement with the experimental results
