Cloud computing evolution over the past few years is potentially one of the greatest developments in computing history. Theoretically, cloud computing provides all computing needs as a service. There are a large number of cloud service providers and the number is increasing continuously. This poses a major problem for a user to select an appropriate service provider and calls for the creation of a professional search engine to assist users in finding suitable services that meet their needs. Towards this goal, we built a search engine that crawls different service providers' websites, extracts service attributes from their JavaScript Object Notation (JSON) files, and normalizes the attributes in a service table. Those attributes are clustered using one of three different algorithms (K-means, K-medoids, and ISODATA). The requirements of a given user are then matched against the centroids of the various clusters, and then this matching can be fine-grained within the selected cluster to help obtain the closest match. We compared the three algorithms in terms of time and accuracy in this study. The best performance was shown by the ISODATA algorithm. The search engine was also tested empirically and was found to be highly usable
