Dissertation note: Thesis (Ph.D.) - Cairo University - Faculty of Engineering - Department of Mechanical Power Engineering Summary: The dilute suspension flow in a horizontal pipe under the effect of gravity was studied. experimental measurements of air velocity and local particle mass flux were taken by using pitot static tube and isokinetic sampling system. For two different materials of particle diameter 300 micron, pipe reynolds number of 5.5x10⁴, 8.3x10⁴, 1x10⁵, 1.35x10⁵, 1.61x10⁵ and 1.91x10⁵, and a solid to air mass flow ratio up to 0.35, the measurements of the local mass flux were taken in three measuring planes inclined to the vertical with three different angles
