Dissertation note: Thesis (M.Sc.) - Cairo University - Faculty of Engineering - Department of Civil Engineering Summary: This research studies the effect of thermochemical pre- treatment on hydroloysis and acidification of anaerobic digestion and the pilot scale was installed in Zenein wastewater treatment plant in Giza district and the experiment consist of three cases and each case presents one chemical . The chemicals used were KOH, NaOH and Naocl . The adding chemicals break down the microbial cell wall for releasing the intracellular and extracellular substances into the aqueous phase
