Watermelon has highly nutritional value containing lycopene which is used as an antioxidant. In addition, watermelon contains concentrated sources of fermentable sugars which can be used to produce bioethanol. Watermelon infection with watermelon mosaic virus-2 (WMV-2) causes economic damage reflected mostly as reduction in plant growth, yield losses of more than 38% and so the present study was carried out in two parts
