The influence of Burstone's intrusive technique in correction of anterior deep overbite and gummy smile was investigated in fifteen adolescence female with class II division 1 malocclusion, with an age range of 18-25 years. Evident improvements in deep bite and smile were obvious after an average of two months of the insertion of the intrusive mechanics. Pre- and post-experimental records were taken including casts, photographs, lateral cephalometric, panoramic and periepical radiographs. Interpretation of the periepical radiographs were done to exclude apical root resorption. It was concluded that Burstone's mechanics are effective in treatment of gummy smile
