Dissertation note: Thesis (M.Sc.) - Cairo University - Faculty of Engineering - Department of Electronics and Communication Summary: We design an analog frequency hopping band - pass filter that covers most of the frequency range of the SINCGARS system in VHF band. Evolutionary and sequential solving algorithms are developed to choose filter characteristics at different frequency zones to optimize different system metrics. Both real and complex filter design processes are handled. For each of them a full system level design is developed and simulated using behavioral model simulations. Furthermore, complex filter is designed and simulated on circuit level
