Dissertation note: Thesis (Ph.D.) - Cairo University - Faculty of Oral and Dental Medicine - Department of Oral Surgery Summary: The presented study was carried out on twenty one patients who were indicated for placing dental implants. Only the patients indicated for extraction of single & multi rooted teeth were selected .The patient's age ranged between 15 {u2013} 35 years old. There were no contraindication for surgical interventions in any of our patients. We divided our patients into 3 groups : Group A received 7 Egyptian dental implants that were inserted in fresh extracted sockets . Group B received 7 implants of the same type that were inserted in extracted sockets after 3 weeks & Group C received 7 implants of the same type that were inserted in extracted sockets after 5 weeks . Follow up was performed 2 & 4 months after implant insertion & 3, 6 ,12 months after loading. The results were assessed clinically and radiographically. The clinical parameters included : probing depth , implant mobility & visual signs of inflammation of the gingival. The radiographic parameters included scanora for bone density measurements. Clinical evaluation showed successful results in all cases, except one case in group A that failed and was removed at the second stage of the follow up surgery. Digital radiographic evaluation for all groups showed an increase in bone density during the follow up period. The results obtained suggested that the alveolar bone density at the interface in the immediate , early and delaye implantation through out the 12 month follow up period reflected a positive clinical finding . An impotant feature for the success rate of the implant is the time of implants installation . The immediate implantation has the advantage of saving the time span after loss of the tooth . The delayed implantation has the advantage of better tissue manipulation during the first stage of surgery . At the end of this study , no significant differences were found between the three techniques to choose an preference for one technique over the other. In general , there are some factors that play an essential role in the success and failure of the implant like maintenance of the oral hygiene and the load distribution
