Dissertation note: Thesis (Ph.D.) - Cairo University - Faculty of Science - Department of Physical Chemistry Summary: In the present work, two series of poly (n-alkyl itaconate-co-styrene) and poly (n-alkyl itaconate-co-vinyl acetate) were synthesized. All the prepared copolymers were characterized by FTIR, ¹H-NMR, DSC and GPC. These copolymers were tested as pour point depressants and flow improvers for lube oil. The obtained data revealed that the prepared compounds depress the pour point of the lube oil successfully
