Orthognathic surgery attempts to reestablish functional and aesthetic anatomy by repositioning displaced bones or by grafting and recontouring the deformed bone contour. Soft tissue changes usually accompany these skeletal alterations but despite the advance in imaging modalities the prediction soft- tissue deformation upon the bone structure change still poses major challenges to both surgeons and computer scientists
