Dissertation note: Thesis (M.Sc.) - Cairo University - Faculty of Computers and Information - Department of Information System Summary: Data warehouses integrates autonomous and heterogeneous External Data Sources (EDSs). EDSs change in time independently of each other and independently of the DW . That integrates them . The dynamic nature of EDSs and real world lead to schema changes in DWs. The main problems with the traditional DWs are that it does not ; 1. support changes on multidimensional instances or multidimensional structures 2. provide appropriate analysis of data coming from different time periods that cause incorrectness querying a DW and 3 facilitate prediction of the future
