The aim of the present work was to analyze the possible protective effect of dietary oils containing unsaturated fatty acids such as linseed oil (omega 3) and sunflower oil (omega 6) on the teratogenic effects produced by administration of sodium valproate to pregnant rats . In conclusion, linseed oil and sunflower oil may have a protective effect against the teratogenic effects produced by sodium valproate in pregnant rats
