Dissertation note: Thesis (Ph.D.) - Cairo University - Faculty of Medicine - Department of Gynecolog and Obstetrics Summary: In the present study, the volume of the placenta and vascularization indices decreased significantly when comparing severe to mild groups of preeclampsia, with no significant correlation with gestational age except in the case of VFI were there was a significant inverse correlation with gestational age.The percentage of calcification in the placenta of both severe and mild groups was done by computer analysis and was found to have no significant difference.Histopathological studies of placenta in both groups were presented showing criteria of placental hypo perfusion
