Understating the shallow geology in the deepwater part of the Nile Deep Sea Fan (NDSF ) is tackled within the area of the Northeastern Mediterranean Deepwater concession (NEMed ) operated by Shell Egypt for hydrocarbon exploration . 3D seismic data and core data is used to study the shallow geology in two different scales . 3D seismic data and core data is used to study the shallow geology in two different scales . On the seismic scale Mass Transport Deposits (MTDs) is studied with the main focus on the Rosetta MTD (RMTD ) and the Sapphire MTD (SMTD ) in two seismic surveys within the NEMed concession named as the NEMed 2001 and the Kj 53 areas
