Dissertation note: Thesis (M.Sc.) - Cairo University - Faculty of Engineering - Department of Aerospace Engineering Summary: In this thesis a computer program using Matlab and Python are developed to perform an optimization cycle to design an air intake for supersonic aircraft . First a preliminarily design step this is carried out by calculating Mach number air angles and pressures distributions along the intake . Second a high fidelity design optimization step by using the result of step one and computational fluid dynamics programs (CFD - RC package ) and utilize the simplex algorithm inside the package to obtain the optimun design
