Vertical alveolar bone loss in partially edentulous patients constitutes a major challenge. This study was carried out to evaluate vertical alveolar ridge augmentation by soft tissue matrix expansion 2tent pole3 grafting technique utilizing dental implant and rhBMP-2. Three patients seeking rehabilitation of the posterior mandible were thoroughly selected to share in this study .Dental implants with ball attachments were inserted in the lower molar region. Ten surgical sites were vertically augmented by tenting the periosteum and soft tissue by the implants. RhBMP-2/ACS was used as a grafting material. All patients were regularly assessed both clinically and radiographically for 7 months. There was no new bone induced at both mesial and distal surfaces of the implants. In contrast, a mean of 0.9 mm and 0.5 mm increase in the height of supra-crestal defect at buccal and lingual surfaces respectively was observed. These results were not statistically significant. However, there was new bone induced at both buccal and lingual surfaces of the implants. A mean of 0.9 mm and 0.1 mm decrease in the height of the supra-crestal defect at the mesial and distal surfaces respectively was observed. These results were also not statistically significant
