The aim of the work is the development of Ti₃ SiC₂ nanostructured plastic ceramics , belonging to the MAX nanolaminates family , to be used binding materials in diamond tools . Firstly , the synthesis of Ti₃ SiC₂ MAX phase has been investigated following different pathways pertaining to the reactant systems : Ti/Si/C, Ti/SiC/C , Si/TiC₀·₆₇ and Ti/TiC/Si
