520			_aAssessment of maturation stage is of prime importance in diagnosis and treatment planning. Our aim was to assess the time of pubertal growth spurt in a group of Egyptian females aged between 8 and 14 years old. Using modified middle phalanx of middle finger and to find the correlation between MP3 maturation stages and mandibular second molar developmental stages. Methods: Participants were 1740 randomly selected adolescent females from Egyptian primary and preparatory schools. Each participant’s middle phalanx of the middle finger was digitally radiographed to assess her MP3 stage. Seventy- eight participants from the included subjects were chosen randomly and their mandibular second molar were also digitally radiograph recorded and assessed using Demirjian et al method. Data were collected and statistically analyzed. Results. There was direct correlation between MP3 stages and mandibular second molar calcification stages. The mean ± standard deviation values for age of pubertal growth spurt among a group of Egyptian adolescent females was 10.96 years ±1.06 years old. The mean pubertal growth spurt in the studied Egyptian females was earlier than males. Conclusions: This study suggests that there is direct correlation between MP3 stages and mandibular second molar calcification stages
520			_aأجريت هذه الدراسة لتقييم طفرة النمو البلوغية عند مجموعة من الإناث المصريات في سن المراهقة ومقارنتها ومراحل تطور الضرس الثاني في محافظة الشرقية ، تم اختيارهم من مدارس بمحافظة الشرقية, وتمت الدراسة بإستخدام مراحل التّطور العظمي للسلامية الوسطى من الإصبع الأوسط كمؤشرلتحديد النضج العظمي الهيكلى. . . أجريت هذه الدراسة كجزء من مشروع بحثي بين وزارة الصحة وكلية طب الفم والأسنان ، جامعة القاهرة ممثلة بقسم تقويم الأسنان. تضمنت سبع دراسات منفصلة في محافظات مصرية مختلفة. أجريت هذه الدراسة في محافظة الشرقية تم تضمين عينة إجمالية من 1740 إناث في البحث. تراوحت أعمارهم بين 8إلى 14 عامًا مع متوسط عمر 10.96 عامًا. بحيث تم أخذ صورة شعاعية ذروية رقمية للسلامية الوسطى من الإصبع الأوسط، وتمت قراءة كل فيلم شعاعي لتحديد مرحلة النضج العظمي ومرحلة التطوير الضرس الثاني السفلي وتم جمع البيانات وتحليلها إحصائياً. بناءً على نتائج هذه الدراسة ، يمكن استخلاص النتائج التالية: ١- تم العثور على متوسط العمر النضج للهيكل العظمي (مرحلة MP3-G) الذي يمثل ذروة سرعة الارتفاع (PHV) في إناث محافظة الشرقية 1.06± 10.96سنة أي ما يقرب من 12.02 شهرًا بعد مرحلة ما قبل الذروة. ٢- تم بلوغ بداية مرحلة ما قبل الذروة (MP3-FG) لنمو البلوغ عند 9.96 سنة ± 1.21 سنة. هذا يعني أن معالجة تعديل النمو بواسطة الأجهزة التقويمية الوظيفية يجب أن تتم عند الإناث في حدود 1.21 ± 9.96 إلى 0.93 ± 11.71 والتي تمثل الفترة النشطة لنمو البلوغ بين فترة ما قبل الذروة (MP3-FG) وما بعد مراحل (MP3-H) على التوالي. ٣- نظرًا لوجود علاقة ذات دلالة إحصائية بين المرحلة mMP3 (G) ومرحلة الضرس الثاني السفلي (DI) المرحلة D ، يمكن استخدام المرحلة الثانية DI الضرس الثاني السفلي كمؤشر للنضج لفترة نمو البلوغ
