520			_aThis case control study was done on 120 participants, classified in 2 groups We aimed to estimate the serum zinc levels in critically ill children with acute lower respiratory infection (ALRI) and determine its association with morbidity and mortality.
520			_aأجريت هذه الدراسة على ١21 مشارًكا، تم تقسيمهم إلى مجموعتين: وتراوحت أعمارهم بين 3 - ١11 شهًرا. تم تجنيد نصف الحاالت من وحدة العناية المركزة لألطفال والنصف اآلخر من جناح األطفال العام، مع الحصول على الموافقة المناسبة من كل أم بعد توضيح مدى فائدة هذه التحقيقات في التشخيص والعالج. تم إجراء االختبارات المعملية بقسم الباثولوجيا السريرية والكيميائية بالقصر العيني. لفحص العالقه بين مستوى الزنك بالدم واالصابه بالالتهاب الرئوى حيث وجد نقص نسبه الزنك لدى الاطفال المصابين بعدوى الجهاز التنفسى السفلى .
